The months of freak weather has finally made people realise that climate change is here. Organisations like the Met Office who were previously unwilling to attribute severe weather incidents to climate change have got off the fence and are willing to say publicly that ‘all the evidence suggests that climate change has a role to play’ (Dame Julie Slingo, Met Office Chief Scientist 9/2/2014). That being the case we must make our homes more resilient to strong winds and floods. We must also make them better insulated and draught proofed to help cut the emissions that caused climate change in the first case.
